JWs Use A "Very Powerful Weapon" to Silence Ex-JWs
by AuldSoul ininsight on the scriptures volume 1,p.787expellingone who was cast out as wicked, cut off entirely, would be considered worthy of death, though the jews might not have the authority to execute such a one.
nevertheless, the form of cutting off they did employ was a very powerful weapon in the jewish community.
jesus foretold that his followers would be expelled from the synagogues.

Power is nothing folks unless you know how to maintain it, many cults around the globe have inplace strategic policies for that reason.
After all what bigger power on earth is there than God's own organization on earth

I know of at least 3 young teenagers that committed suicide due to the over oppressing anxiety and stress of Armageddon back in the 70's
In the young teen years this a time in a person's life when people are the most insecure and sensitive to outside social pressures.
One young fellow hung himself in a garage which was located next to a parking lot of a Hall that I used to attend, used to give me the creeps
whenever we parked are car and viewed the garage walking to the hall. I think he was only 13 or 14 at the time and now my brother is partially related
to his family due to marriage.

After reading more posts on the thread, my own personal statements come out of the 70's ideology out of the JWS, which not might be accurate due to not being recent.
But nevertheless I think that most people will know what I was talking about.

In short depression brings reproach to the organization and does not show a good face to the society, or in another sense you are just spiritually weak
and you have not indulged yourself with Jehovah's holly spirit.
Some JWS even think depression is caused by Satan's evil spirits invading your mind and spirituality, in essence these types of people should be avoided.

Because it's not being theocratic and does not show good face to the organization, this is reason why for the stupid grin you see on JWS faces, particularly at the
kingdom halls, a good mind controlled grin to strangers is the theocratic way for all JWS, it's used too for self marketing . I remember many times that we should always smile
and greet people when going door to door and particularly any interested ones that you meet at the hall. Being depressed is simply being untheocratic and weakens the strength of the
society and so therefore it is frowned on.

six billion dead bodies?
by inkling inok, i am having a bit of an friendly argument with my wife, and i need your help.. (ok, fine- feel free to help her if she turns out to be right).
does the watchtower actually teach that all others besides witnesses will be.
killed at armageddon?
-
Homerovah the Almighty
Yes absolutely, all will be killed, just like he did during the flood of Noah's day, all the inhabitants on earth, only those who keep faithful to him and the watchtower society based in New York
will survive. Remember he is a loving and just god and he wants only the best for mankind.

What has this religion become? THE WATCHTOWER madhouse
by Terry inc.t.russell began with a personal "purpose" which was to find a way to believe in/worship god while doing away with the beliefs he found to be personally uncomfortable such as hellfire.
he shopped around and cherry picked 2nd adventist views as a foundation.
to this he added pyramidology.

The Governing NARCISSUS: the psychology of the FDS
by Terry innarcissism is a term of psychology/psychiatry characterized this way.. has a grandiose sense of self-importance .
is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love .
believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be understood by other special people .

Good read Terry
I always found the ground players like C.T.Russell and alike were power playing opportunists who were intentionally structuring up their own kingdom
basically I see Russell taking down the sign on his stores/ Russell Clothing / and putting up Zion's Watchtower instead, his salesmanship in his
literature was apparent, a marketing ploy that continues today, he just used the bible to validate himself and his literature.
